Monday Morning Power Rankings: Week 26

1. Washington Capitals

The Capitals have gone on a tear where they have won seven of their last 10, showing that they’re back to midseason form. With the playoffs on the horizon, Washington is prepared to go deep.

2. Edmonton Oilers

Edmonton is hot again! Rocketing into first in the Pacific, the Oilers look to carry that late season momentum into the playoffs. (Playoffs? Oilers? What?)

3. Columbus Blue Jackets

Columbus has slipped a bit as of late, but they’re still in the thick of it. They’ve had their worst stretch of the season – if they can get back on the horse, they can ride into the playoffs strong.

4. Chicago Blackhawks

It’s become pretty obvious that Chicago won’t decline the way everyone said they were going to in the past couple seasons. With hot seasons from rookies such as Nick Schmaltz, Ryan Hartman, Tanner Kero, and others along the way, this train doesn’t look to be stopping anytime soon.

5. Montreal Canadiens

Montreal’s actually dropped a bit over recent weeks – that being said, Carey Price has still had outstanding goaltending. If Montreal can get their offense going, they could be a fearsome matchup for what will be most likely the New York Rangers.
